Abstract

This paper explores the phenomenon of remixed video clips on the social media platform Instagram, specifically on the profile “sjebomekarburator.” The paper analyzes how this profile uses humorous remixed video content dealing with themes such as driving, car ownership, maintenance, and modification, as well as the social and economic aspects of life related to car culture and the folk groups formed in this way. Through this phenomenon, the paper examines how remixed video clips, as a form of digital folklore, function as a means of constructing a collective identity, but also as a tool for social satire and commentary on social values, norms, and experiences. The focus is placed on the role of humor running through Instagram clips as a cohesive factor linking the followers of this profile, as well as its role in creating new forms of cultural and social interpretation in the digital environment. The goal of this research is to highlight how memes, although predominantly humorous, convey deeper messages about class, economic, and social issues, and to contribute to the understanding of the interaction between digital and real cultural practices.
