THE EFFECT OF THE PATTERNS OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AMONG THE ETHNOLOGISTS AND ANTHROPOLOGISTS IN SERBIA TODAY ON THE QUALITY OF RESEARCH
Keywords:
ethnology/anthropology, Serbia, crisis, patterns of behaviourAbstract
This paper deals with certain aspect of the crisis that the ethnoanthropological discipline finds itself in Serbia today. When addressing the problem the assumption was made that the crisis is at least partly caused by certain regularities (patterns) in the professional conduct of the majority members of ethno-anthropological community that have a negative effect on the quality of research, that is, they affect the public reception of these studies adversely. Observation and systematization of experiences led to the discovery of a certain number of these patterns which are interconnected and interdependent. They were observed in students of all levels of study in ethnology and anthropology as well as among many of the professional researchers. These patterns consist of identical (or ideological) and methodological segments ant the paper makes an attempt to define and contextualize them.
