ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE YOUTH PARTICIPATION ON THE SOCIAL NETWORK FACEBOOK: THE EXAMPLE OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM KRALJEVO

In modern societies, communication that takes place on the Internet created some completely new, virtual social categories like: virtual communities, virtual space and virtual identity. The origin of these new categories is linked to the Internet services such as the websites of online social networks. Of all the services of this type Facebook had the most dynamic development in the decade behind us and the number of its users is measured in hundreds of millions. This raises the question about how this new form of virtual communication and socializing influences basic aspects of everyday life of young people in Serbia. On the example of high school students in Kraljevo, this paper provides answers to the most important questions about the social change that occurred with the introduction of the information technologies and the new cultural patterns that were caused by this change. This paper also considers the questions about the proper usage of virtual social network online services as well as the possibility of their use in educational and pedagogical terms.
