SOME ELEMENTS OF THE GASTARBEITER CULTURE OF THE IRON GATE SETTLEMENTS

Abstract

In this paper the authors deal with the processes of culture transformations in the Danubian Iron Gate region, caused by professional emigraiton of its inhabitants ts the weslern couniries. It is stated that the time span alone, since their initial departure, enabled these processes to attain definite form, inducing deep transformations in all sspects of their traditional cufture, Gastarbelters (guest workers) of this region find themselves today split between the treditional commurnily culture of their origin and the influences of the new operating in the countires they are employed in.
