REPERTOIR OF BOGDAN BAŠTOVANOVIĆ, A WORKER-SINGER OF EPIC POEMS
Abstract
Born in the family where epic traditions was highly valued (father was a good fiddler of heroic poems, and mother well known for extra well naration of folk stories), Bogdan Baštovanović, a worker-rafter on river Drina, was in the first lines of people’s resistance movement against German occupier, when it broke out in his Western Serbia native place in 1941. His first song »Pesma o Javorcima« (Song about Javorci) stigmatizes the četnik crimes done to innocent people. Autor visualises Baštovanović’s poems through developing process, as I chronical of people rebellion, continued by the postwar reconstruction of country, indicating the dynamic structure of his reperatire.
