Abstract

The paper reviews the development of constitutional elements of reproductive politics and various parties that are involved in its restructuring in countries of Eastern Europe, with special regard to Serbia. The review is conducted through synthesis of relevant anthropological material. The contexts of reproductive politics is explained, both in socialism and after its fall in 1989. In the conclusion the shift towards addressing women and men as socially responsible subjects in terms of their reproductive behaviour is disputed.
