PUBLIC CULTURAL POLICY AND ANTHROPOLOGISTS. AND VICE VERSA
Keywords:
anthropology, public policy, law, engagementAbstract
Although the attempts to define culture often caused lots of polemics among anthropologists, they generally agree that culture is at the heart of anthropology. On the other hand, within the field of anthropology, for decades there have been debates related to the practical application of anthropological knowledge (especially in public policy). In 2010, the new Law on Culture came into force in Serbia. Whether they were involved in culture independantly or within an institution or an association, this law gave the professionals the „status“ of subjects in culture. This paper deals with the treatment public (cultural) policy gives to the subjects in culture, professionals whose object of professional engagement is culture and the way professionals treat public (cultural) policy.
